You do know that Martin Luther King Jr was a religious Marxist, as was Norman Thomas, right? In the Debs era Christian Socialist was one of the most popular periodical in America. Quakers, Catholic Workers, Southern Christian Leadership Conference, all had socialist constituents. Leninist turn towards militant atheism was an aberration in the history of American Marxism.
