Ever since I became a communist,I was always puzzled by the fact there has never been a uniquely American form of religious Marxism to emerge in the USA. A US equivalent of Latin American Liberation Theology, if you will. No one I have read so far, has yet to provide me an answer for why this never happened. I view Liberation Theology as one of the more exciting developments in Marxism in the 20th century, and of course the CIA, and the US government did their best to extinguish this movement.
