Well if you are actually on the machine, you can look at the processes in Task 
Manager and if there is a *32 next to the name then it's 32 bit.

Thanks for the suggestions. These were installed outside of the "Program Files" 
tree. I think I can figure it out by comparing a few files. It just seemed like 
there might be a definite way just like you get the version with -v.

        If I'm looking at an existing binary installation of mapserv and gdal 
from GIS Internals, how can I determine if it is 32 bit or 64 bit? It seems 
like such a simple question that I imagine I will be embarrassed by the simple 
answer but my Windows Foo just isn't with me tonight.
