I agree sending multiple times might be safer.  However, yesterday I got 11 
copies of messages with the same id.  Here's the log extract:

No transaction appears to have taken more than 1 sec.  Note that multiple 
copies came from the same IP.

What kind of logic drives this?

Yeah, I know google SOMETIMES sends dupes… but now it looks like something went out of hand on google. Are they testing something?
