Dear all,

that took me a bit to get back to this topic - my apologies.

So there indeed has eventually been a bit of positive feedback after my second push for the topic.

Oh, I meant to reply. Not a bad idea, but also there's a lot of info
needed to troubleshoot email delivery issues and I fear the list would
grow very long very quickly. Not quite the same thing, but my blog
already has 500k+ words on the topic. Or maybe a more
directory-oriented website, like https://emailresourc.es/ , would be
more useful.

The website variant I am buying immediately! Instead of a regular email with all the resources that will probably get lengthier by the month, a regular email pointing to an entry point will IMHO do, too.

    Hello,

I would propose something such as the amazing Selfhosted List on
Github. I like the idea of a monthly or weekly diff against the raw
    version of the list.

I think Subchapters would be a great idea like "Error Handling",
    subchapter "specific Vendors".

That way we can just use commits without the need to rely on a
single person making changes to a certain website. I could create
    something quickly, if wanted.

I think the collection of tools and resources would quickly become too large to be useful as a monthly posting. How about a FAQ or Wiki so search engines can find it? I think a monthly diff against last month to announce new info would be quite interesting.

If people are willing to work on it I could easily spin up a Mediawiki wiki.

It's the software that Wikipedia uses so if you've edited Wikipedia entries,
you know how to use it.

Just catching up on this.

https://www.mailop.org/ does have a little bit of information about mailtaining
mail servers. I was hopeing to add more at some point but haven't got around to
it (although I do have around 100 emails on this list saved to look at).

The site is writen in hugo and has a git repo so it might be possible to make
the site more public and people could submit pull requests with updates etc.

Lukas', John's and Simon's above quoted postings put together seem to indicate a way ahead.

* Would the mailop admins be willing to open up access to additional editors?

* Would the git repo be as easily workable as John's wiki? I personally have no experience whatsoever doing stuff on a git repo.

* Would Lukas' "Selfhosted List on Github" - never heard of it before... - maybe be combinable with the git repo that drives the mailop.org website?

Best,

        -C.
