Happy Friday everyone and a Happy Passover/Easter/Good Friday to all those that apply :) We’ve been using List-Unsubscribe with both the “mailto” and the “unsubscribe url” for quite some time. We have a back-end process that sends all unsub requests to a mailbox in which we parse and opt subscribers out appropriately according to each of our customers. We’re noticing that a handful of unsub requests that come in don’t match up to the email addresses that the messages were necessarily sent to. My guess is that the devices that are being used to send the unsub mail are using the the default email address of their mail client which may not be the address that the email was sent to. The behavior doesn’t seem to be ISP or domain specific as I’ve seen Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc.. Does anyone have experience with this, that may be able to make a suggestion as to how this works and if there is anything that can be done?
