Here is my take on the positive surge for various senders ~8/16.

Looking back in the June 14-16ish range, there appeared to be a surge of
increased Spam Rates for many senders in Postmaster Tools (many
noticed/reported this too). I saw a few of those spikes myself, and on senders
that wouldn’t normally show surges like that. Wasn’t sure if there was a bug in
reporting, Gmail adjusted something, or the sender caused it directly. Any
chance your data saw reputation downgrades/any spam surges around that time?

Seems like getting 30 and then 60 days of repuation (spam rate spike in this
case) data cleared out of Gmail metrics likely factored into that. The time
frame fits, given various senders are seeing favorable shifts right around the
60 day marker. Makes sense, when the algorithms learn/adjust to your change in
data patterns over time and reward good behavior.

Subject: Re: [mailop] Gmail Metrics Change

I've now seen this for two of my clients here at Maropost, per eDataSource
panel data. Gmail inbox delivery went way up for both right around the same
time, in mid-August, for no apparent reason. Opens, clicks, and complaints went
up at the same time, too.

Hey Andrew, under normal circumstances I would agree. However, it seems odd
that this happens across domains, datacenters, IP ranges at the same time w/o
email program changes. It was also confirmed to be happening for other
senders/clients at a large ESP off-list.

Sounds like you made it out of the spam folder. No one marks mail as spam or
unsubscribes from mail that gets delivered to the spam folder.

Hi all,

We are experiencing a shift in various Gmail metrics since August 16 globally.

Open rates have increased but so did list-unsubscribes and spam rates. Which
overall would indicate higher exposure while audience and volume remains stable.

Has anyone else seen similar behavior or knows of any feature deploys for Gmail
(Desktop or Mobile App) internationally? North America is least affected.

Thanks,
Torsten
