I 100% agree with everything you said.

If whois disappears, then the lines between the good guys and the bad guys becomes obscured in a way that only helps those with bad or even criminal intentions. Millions of innocent people will suffer as a direct result. Millions of criminals and scammers will benefit. The losses from criminal behavior, and the increased costs to keep the Internet safe and secure - will both result in less prosperity and less security for all who earn their money via legal and honest means. Every day, people who are honest and hard working and innocent... will be scammed by criminals who just barely didn't get caught due to being able to have their tracks a little more hidden due to the absence of WHOIS.
