having IMAP IDLE to everywhere... ugh, I guess. What's another million persistent connections. I'd rather make forwarding more reliable. I've wanted to add an inbound gateway setting to consumer accounts, similar to what we have for GSuite customers, which would allow us to be smarter about forwarding, but never had the resources to do it.
I'm hoping that ARC will allow us to do a better job of inferring forwarding and handling it better, but even that's going to take a lot of tuning and rolling out.
