Marco,
Quite possible. Hence my suggestions about isolating your problem
appearance, in some ways that are non-destructive. For instance
attempting to recreate it on another machine, or log into another user
appearance on the same computer, etc.
So, to determine if the condition you see points to a larger problem
than just one app mis-behaving in a new way.
BTW, you could also try to downgrade the Test Build to a previous
version if you haven’t done either of the above, just to be sure there
is no interaction between the OS and the application. It sounded to me
like you have done that to an extent but not sure of it from here.
Happy hunting.

In the dock it is working better, but the unread number sometimes
disappear.
I’ll try your suggestions but my impression is that something
happened in the OS.
Thank you for the help,
I’ll let you know if I manage to resolve

Marco,
Wonder if you tried the red (unread email) counts in a different
quadrant position (there are four), don’t know if it could be
something about the position of the counter selected, just a
speculation.
Maybe Benny might have some insight for you as to the intermittent
nature. They seem consistent to me on this version, as to
troubleshooting this issue. I know he reads these pages as well.
In my case, just so we’re talking about the similar problem, the
MenuBar and the Dock Icon are separate checkboxes and can be turned
on/off independently of each other for all four quadrants [of the
Dock
Icon](https://drive.google.com/file/d/112aDMe4Z8M3SxDqSJ0HbmNuyGVJEaNBV/view?usp=sharing)
or separate box(es) on [the
MenuBar](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bgaBflOAiADhLeD-oGnfVI7GMHEII8M9/view?usp=sharing).
Be advised that the counts displayed in the Mailboxes sidebar for the
Inboxes or other folders on the Main Window is not adjustable and
gray.
Please send similar pictures to confirm.
Troubleshoot ideas if you are convinced we’re talking about the
same thing:
* Are you observing it by setting mail existing in the Inbox to
unread or flagged as I did? Are you observing the same icons? A nice
feature of the MenuBar display is you can see the relevant emails in
the dropdown by clicking on them.
* Does this same situation happen on another user account?
* Did you try rolling back to an older hopefully working version of
MM?
* Another possibility… Save your MM settings and try with default
settings to confirm if it recurs in the default settings.
Those might be a couple of ways to isolate the issue.

Thank you Henry,
It is possible I had an OS update some days ago, I’m not sure.
My Mailmate version is a Test Build, 6263, my mac is a
MacBookPro18,3 with Sonoma 14.7.6
I see the green counting of flagged emails, not the red one. I tried
changing settings but it does not come back.
In the dock I see both numbers.
Thanks again,
best regards
Marco

Marco,
Did you check the MM Settings menu, Settings>Counters
tab>Count:Unread (you can count many things besides unread)? Maybe
make a change and see if MM counts anything, there.
Have you tried a Test Build? You didn’t mention the specific
build you are using nor whether some condition of your MacOS was
updated recently. That might have affected your MM operations as
well.
Below is the current Test Build and version MacOS running on my
MacBook Pro (Menu>Help>Send Feedback). My counters have not quit
(on the Inbox and other relevant folders). You can check for Test
Builds either on the web or on recent Beta versions by holding down
the ⌥ key when clicking Check For New… in the MailMate Menu
dropdown.
All of the above are helpful information of value to help the MM
Community help you.
My system: MailMate/6262/282BCB28-893E-51E7-891E-F3272BC540D1

Hi,
I don’t know why but the unread count in the menu bar is
disappeared and there’s no way I can have it back.
Do you have any clue?
I’m with the latest MailMate and OSX 14.7.6 on a macbook pro M1
Thank you,
