Benny,
Only one kind of sound (sent mail) is allowed for MM. That’s different
from Mail.app where sound can be customized for multiple functions
(incoming mail, sent mail, others…).

Sounds now require notifications to allow sounds. Check your System
Preferences ▸ Notifications for MailMate.
