+1. I reported this issue on this list before. Search the archives for
the subject "default account derived from context is not behaving?".
Here's the key point I posted at the end of that thread, and it still
applies:
Hmm, so maybe MM keeps a notion of the most recently used from address
to use when a new blank message is created.
Still, this is not the behavior I want. If I have an account/identity
with the same domain part as the To: address of the new message, I
want that identity chosen. Every time.

Since setting the recipient address(es) is what triggers the
heuristic,
my trick is to set the From: address AFTER that.
If you can develop that habit, you will reduce the likelihood of
error.
