Hi all, I hope you guys remember that i had made a post regarding "Magnatune Plugin" not loading in Rhythmbox in Trisquel 4.0 . Well i found a solution for it. But this seems to be working out of the box on Laptops.. But needs an alternative approach in PCs!!!!!... Its very weired why its like that...anyways this is the solution. The package "python-gnomekeyring" is the villain here. Its the python binding to gnomekeyring. Its not installed by default in Trisquel... But its required to run Magnatune. So the thing is... Rhythmbox has not updated its dependencies!!. And the second thing... This package installation solved the issue immediately on 2 laptops...but 2 other PCs did not work immediately. In them, if i started "rhythmbox" command after the package installation, it would still hang when i click Magnatune (or any other python script plugin). But it works fine if i run "rhythmbox-client" command !!!... If anyone has Trisquel 4.0 installed, can you please confirm my findings??... Meanwhile, i think many people dont know why i am reffering to Magnatune so much. Well for information, Magnatune is a platform where artists can sell their songs. But there is a difference. We can listen to the songs in High quality and then download it only if we want to.. And if you pay $15 dollars per month you can do any number of downloads from the site of any album :).. And also, the songs are DRM free. Plus, 50% of the money got from selling the album online will go to the artist and rest to Magnatune. Moreover, the contract with Magnatune permits the artist to tie up with any other record label like Warnerbro's or anyone to sell his/her music through them even when the contract with Magnatune is active!!!... And the Happiest news!!!... The streaming is available in both OGG and MP3 ;)... Another website that follows this concept is "Jamendo", whose plugin is also available in Rhythmbox :). Oh and yes!! the quality of the musicians is so so good, that i am totally hooked to it :) (I am a singer...so mark my word on that ;)...he he he )... So Enjoy listening to DRM free music guys!!!
