The idea is good. Some M$ users may switch also. But not everyone.
Most of the users and most of the companies are happy to pay M$ for
their guranteed product (they say).

I think from Windows XP onwards M$ is recognizing the unauthorised
copies when the machine goes on the net. I don't know why they are not
doing anything legally. I don't know what was the conspiracy. :-)
