I dont mind people asking basic questions. I do agree with some other members on this list has said. But, instead of just pointing them to links, we should some how help them to help them selves. Only way we could do that is by pointing them to search terms. That way, at least, they will get a hang of what they should look for in the future. For example http://www.google.com/search?q=movie+player+linux or even better google for movie player linux Obviously they might come back with questions like how to get it running on my XYZ flavour of linux. Again it should be another googley.! A hard one, but probably the only way to make newbies experts.!

If we want to share properly, we should stop being rude towards "noobz". I doubt if anyone here was born with the entire Linux kernel code imprinted in his/her brain. Everyone was a newbie once.
