Ok, that sounds ludicrous. Indeed most faculty would be ill-equipped to
guide students on such projects.

If ILUG plans to take up this issue, then I suggest along with contacting
the various colleges, we also need to contact the IEEE LiNK, which is a
highly-organised body that coordinates IEEE student activities in Kerala. (

I'll be attending the IEEE Kerala section's Silver Jubilee celebrations next
week at Malapuram. I'll try to bring up the subject there if someone can
give me an idea on how strictly colleges are insisting on these "IEEE
projects". Also can someone list these colleges? I'll speak to their IEEE
representatives.
