hi saju,i dont know how u installed alsa in your system,i mean either by supporting the sound card in the kernel or installing the driver manually,any way the failsafe method is you have to compile the kernel in such a way that you only need to enter the sound card support in the kernel,no need to enter the alsa support and oss support,then compile the kernel and after that install alsa-driver again and am pretty sure that this time alsaconf will detect your sound card
