I use pine to send mails and fetchmail to receive them.
My configuration works like this :
If my ISP mail account is X@ ISP._, I have a login called
X , where , .fetchmailrc and pine are configured.

By means of a shell script , I have overcome one
limitation my approach would have landed me in :
exposing my password in text files .

My doubt is ....
Once we are connected onto the net ,
and
fetchmail &
or
 fetchmail -d
commands are run , you get your mails ,
They alert you like :
You have mail in /var/spool/mail/X

Once I am offline ,
I take the mail command and at the prompt
type r (to reply)
mail
.
.

&r

All the stuff is fine , I type in my message (I am offline),
and when I press Ctrl+D
to end message , it is nowhere to be seen ! Has it gone to any outbox ?
2) Is there any linkage between fetchmail and pine ?
If there is no concept of an outbox as in Outlook Express ,
then maybe , I will have to reconnect before the Ctrl+D.

3)Using fetchmail , how can you view attchments as files ?

Well I am a novice at this stuff anyway.

Warm Regards,
