There is a line (second or third - count only uncommented lines) in /etc/lilo.conf " boot=/dev/hdX " (where X can be 'a' or'b') . Change it to the other letter (if it is a change it to b) and run lilo. Watch for the output(message) that lilo gives. The message will be some thing like "Adding Linux" "Adding windows" or dos as mentioned in the lilo.conf, there will be a * which points to default label. Reboot the system and change your BIOS boot selection to the device mentioned in "boot=/dev/hdX). Wish you all the best. It is better you read the man pages of lilo and install-mbr.
