thanx all.
i got higher resolutions.... this si what i did.
i had RH on another partition, so i took out the XF86Config file from there
and replaced the one in debian with it, then i edited the file by hannd,
chnging the font path and all ... and
Voila........
higher resolutions .... no prob....
