Thanks Ann, I just updated from V8.0 to V8.3. BTW: it looks like scanning multiple pages with the Epson isn't going to work out very well. Maybe I'll look into VueScan, but for now, I am satisfied scanning and converting one page at a time. I use scanning mostly to check the snail mail and scanning the first page is usually enough to let me know what it is and whether I can chuck it or need to scan the remainder.
