The flash you're speaking of though, is different than flash content found on websites, right? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Christopher Kchao" <cskc...@gmail.com>

Solid state drive use flash and no moving parts, as opposed to conventional hard drives. THis essentially enable them to operate faster. If you're not doing anything too terribly intensive, it may be difficult to see immediate benefits from going with a SSD. Conventional hard drives are significantly more economical.

Hi,
There exists a multitude of configuration options for storage. I believe you're talking about the macBOok pro line, the one with the optical drive. Off the top of my head, I believe it starts out at 500Gb and up for hard drives. And then there are a bunch of SSD flash storage options. Quicker seek time and no moving parts etc.

Hi Chris,
What capacities for hard drives are available for the model we're discussing? Perhaps this doesn't apply, not sure.

Hello Anita
then it's the Macbook Pro with non-retina display. This is the only choice now if you want one with an optical drive built in.
Chris.

Hi List,
I'm getting a MacBook, but am not sure how to choose the best one. Having a CD slot is essential. This may limit my selections/choices, buthaving a laptop is what I want, and just wanna get the most for my money.
   Thanks for any info.
