Hello Adrienne, According to the Irislink website, the cost of ReadIris 14 is €99 which is more expensive than ABBYY FineReader.
They seem to have completely redesigned the whole program so I've no idea how accessible it is. As far as I know, FineReader will work with any scanner that's recognised by your Mac. I use it with a Canoscan Lide 110. I do use VueScan as well when I want to scan more than two or three pages at one go because it requires fewer key strokes to get the job done and I've had a license for VueScan for over ten years! I used to use Omnipage Pro with Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, but it hasn't been updated for over ten years and no longer works with more recent versions of Mac OS X. So, if you feel adventurous, by all means get ReadIris 14 and let us know how you get on.
