It's really just a guess more than anything else, to be honest. What I do also is I actually connect my Apple TV to my Apple Time Capsule directly via an ethernet cable instead of using the wireless method for updates. I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but it's how I was advised to do it when I first got my Apple TV.
