Yes, I've been playing with bookle some more over this weekend and I figured out something to make the book/chapter list moch more navigable. BTW, I'm the guy who posted the thing on Applevis. I will update that post with my findings later today.
For now, let me explain what I do to make this easier. Basically, when entering this app, turn off Cursor tracking with VO-Shift-F3. Then be sure you are interacting with the table and use the VO enhanced arrow keys to move up and down the list. When on a book title you want to read, Bring the system cursor to the VO cursor with VO-Command-F4. This allows you to skip over the other books. Actually, this will select the desired book and expand the table of contents for that book below at the same time. Now, use VO keys to nav on down to the chapter and verse you want to read and use the VO-Command-F4 again to select this item. When items are selected in this manner, you can then expand them with right arrow; when using arrows to expand and collaps chapter nodes in this tree structure, do not hold down the VO keys. You can then use the VO-j key to jump back and forth between this table and the html view of the chosen section. Problem is, when you come back into the table, you always get positioned back to the top of the list so you have to navigate back down to where you were before <sigh>. It's extra key banging for sure but having Cursor tracking off makes it possible to navigate this tree structure without overlaying selections. I plan to contact the developer about this because I see two basic problems here. He is using the table to show two lists at the same time. He really ought to have the books in one list and upon selection of a book in that list, have the second list show the chapters for that book. What is happening here is as you arrow over the given book, the table of contents for that book is exposed but then you arrow down to the next one and the contents pain changes as you move. I would rather he either makes this into two separate tables as I mentioned above or collaps all nodes and just open the node for the desired book when you press right arrow like you do in a Finder window. The second problem is being thrown back to the top of the list every time it gains focus. You should be positioned back to where you were before. Hope this isn't too confusing but at least I can read different ePub books on the mac now and it is manageable this way.
