First, braille commands will be the same no matter what display you use. 
Second, to de-select, use space-2-3-5, the opposite of the select keystroke. 
Remember that if you use an apex, this command brings up keysoft's task menu, 
so you must first press enter-4-5-6. Other displays do not have this problem.
