In that case, you'll need a router that can support NAS, and an external USB 
hard drive. The former can be gotten anywhere you can find routers; just be 
sure the one you choose has a USB port and says something about supporting NAS. 
The latter can be gotten anywhere as well, but you may have to format the drive 
once you get it. If only Macs will be accessing it, you can format it to the 
usual Mac file system. If both Mac and Windows will be accessing it, you will 
need to use a different format, I believe it's called XFAT (extended file 
allocation table). This is supported by both Mac and Windows and lets them read 
and write, but it does not support files over 4gb in size. Google "write to 
drive with mac and windows" or something like that for more information. See 
your router's manual for details on setting up your NAS.
