Well, if it's networked storage you want, my first thought is NAS. Network 
accessed storage is basically a hard drive any computer on your network can 
access. I plan on using this, for instance, to store media. This way, my whole 
family can have access to movies and music, and none of us need to keep these 
files on our local machines. Let us know if this isn't the sort of thing you 
mean.
