You can, but it is painful. I did that for months, and people on this list kept telling me to get a monitor as I kept complaining of slow performance, choppy speech, delayed keyboard reaction, and other problems. Well, I finally bit the bullet and got the adapter to plug my old flat panel monitor into the mini and things sped way up; no more delays or anything. My only slowness now comes from my having just 2gb of ram, but it is way, way better than when I was running with no screen at all.
