Thanks, Kawal and Cheryl. I followed your suggestion, Cheryl, and the read button instead said 'VIP, read'. I VO-Spaced it and it changed to just 'read'. Hopefully this has removed the sender as a VIP.
Kawal, I tried doing that but to my surprise in the mark sub-menu there was no option to mark as not a VIP. However, how does one do it in iOS just in case I need to do it that way?
