Hey Ben. Welcome to the list. I've had my Mac for 2 years this November and I really like it. Even though I have a little vision, it's not enough to see the screen so I only use Voiceover. And contrary to what Paul was saying, I've used a combination of Iwork and Textedit and I've had no problems with neither one. Pages works like it should, and that's all I really need. HTH and I hope your wife takes the plunge. She'll have a lot of support if she does.
