No, tried that.  I've tried choosing the close button and it exits, but the 
system dialog still remains.  I was also having problems with my screen saver 
related to the harddisk going to sleep.  Perhaps it's not related, but since I 
turned off Speakable Items, my harddisk is going to sleep and it gets 
reactivated when I press any key.  I know this because no speech occurs for a 
while which was the default behavior which is what I wish.  What was happening 
recently was that I heard speech immediately when I brought the system out of 
sleep mode.  gain, this may have nothing to do with this dialog, but with all 
of the difficulties I've encountered, I decided to forego Speakables for a 
while.
