yes, you're right. I'd forgotten about the Upgrade option. The difference now 
is that the upgrade is the default action and a clean install requires more 
effort.

I come from a systems programming background, so I always did a clean install, 
just as I've always done a complete backup of my system before installing a new 
OS.
