Hi GIGI, what about turning the speech off by using the three fingered double tap and then turning it back on. I don't have a 4s tet because VZ suddenly changed there contracts so now I have to wait til October to get Siri. But I have a friend who has it and she had the same problem. She does it the way you are doing it now.
