Yes, that's exactly what I did; that's how I isolated the problem and
attributed it to the Dropbox module.  Then whenever I start the
Dropbox module by hand, I get the same issues.  this confirms further
that some how, Dropbox and the finder go nuts in my environment.
Also, if I start Dropbox, I could merely avoid the finder alltogether
and just use shell commands to move/copy files to/from the Dropbox
folder and then kill the app after Dropbox is caught up.  That's
probably how I'll handle things until I get the hardware stuff worked
out.
