all you need to do is go to Skype.com and download the client. then you can open the dmg file and copy the Skype application to your applications folder. then start up and fill in the username/password. one thing though, Skype 5.x is hard to use in some respects. you will need growl installed to be able to automatically read chats when they happen. I use Skype 2.8 simply because the 5.x interface is a nightmare for me.
