in an update to this, these files can be found but an application called tinkertool is needed to uncover the hidden files.
tinkertool can be found here: http://bresink.de/osx/0TinkerTool/download.php5 please be aware that if you show all files including hidden files, you will see critical used files for OS X. these MUST NOT be touched unless you are a competent systems technician or administrator with recovery experience. when you load this software, simply copy the tinkertool app to your applications folder. from here, run it, it will display a welcome and warning notice in 1 stating that the software can make changes to the system which if used incorrectly can harm OS X. the only area to tick is the first box saying "Show hidden and system files" once done, close the app and restart OS X for changes to take effect. you may also log out and log in to apply changes. Please be aware that on your desktop you will see additional files. Don't delete or touch them. go to /users/"USER"/library/preferences (/libary/preferences is a hidden folder for a reason) now that you are able to gain access to this, now remove the two following files... com.apple.itunes.plist com.apple.itunesHelper.plist. close the window go back to applications and launch tinkertool. uncheck "show hidden and system files" quit the app, log out and log back in. now relaunch itunes. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A FIX ONLY FOR OS X 10.7 ONWARDS DUE TO THE WAY THE FINDER WORKS WITH FILE SECURITY! other than the additional steps of using tinker tool in OS X 10.7 upwards, the proceedure is pretty much the same for earlier versions. lew On 5 Feb 2012, at 20:24, Kawal Gucukoglu wrote: > Well everyone, > > My itunes is terrible since updating to the latest version of Lion and as Lew > has explained to you all Ithe necessary files can't be found to correct > Itunes.
