Please list the exact steps and gestures you employ to read by sentence via the TrackPad. Also, are you running Lion or Snow Leopard? Reading one sentence, at a time, can be extremely useful when writing long documents. Basically, once you change the setting, it affects what is read to you when you move your finger on the trackpad. The line mode will read a line at a time, the word mode will read a word at a time and so forth. I cannot find any use to this feature yet... But the way most people think the instruction means is to hold the key down and tap the track pad and then think it does not work!
