Hi Ed,

I recall that you posted on the mac-access list about using the Mac apps
iKeyboard and Type2Phone paired to your iPhone. I'd guess that either one of
these apps will act as though a Bluetooth keyboard is paired with the iPhone,
and you can't have more than one Bluetooth keyboard paired to your iOS device
at the same time. Can you check that your Mac Bluetooth is not active? Make
sure this is turned off and/or out of range of your iOS device. Also, a few
people have had some interactions with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi being on at the same
time. I don't know that this is a documented problem, but you might try
turning off Wi-Fi temporarily to check whether your Bluetooth pairing can be
successfully accomplished.

There is a "Reset" category on your iPhone, under Settings > General, and I
believe that "Reset network settings" under that category will cause your
device to forget all previous WiFi connections and Bluetooth devices, but that
would be a pain to do. If you have difficulty getting Bluetooth pairing
working, I might try forgetting the last Bluetooth keyboard you were paired
with on your iPhone. Do this by double tapping the "more info" button when you
flick right from the device listed in Settings > General > Bluetooth, then
double tap "Forget this device". Then check whether you can pair your new
keyboard.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther
