OK, I have a standard USB 2.0 midi dongle that y's at the other end into the two round midi in and out plugs. I have the in and out connected to my in and out ports on my Yamaha DGX500 keyboard. I should add this isn't just a controler. It's a full fledged keyboard with 88 keys. There is nothing fancy at all about this keyboard, it's very middle of the road. So, the other end I have in the USB port on my stocked mid 2010 13 inch white macbook. When I fire up Garage Band and then select a software instrument, I really don't get this. If I interact with my browser, choose my category of instrument, then my instrument, say grand piano on stage, which is under the piano category, If I then play on my keyboard, every so often I hear a little pop in my playing, like a ladency pop. Like, say I play a C chord, the attack comes back as if I played the chord once, then again about half a millisecond later. It's really strange. I dono if it would sound that way if I recorded. I've not tried yet, but just listenning to it's enough to drive me bananas! This is a standard stocked macbook, as I said. Not a pro. So intel 2 duo. 2 gigs ram, 250 gig hard disk, I mean, all your standards. Nothing was modified at all. We're running 10.6.8 of OSX, all my software updates have been pulled, I have the version of ILife that came pre-installed with my system. This is totally! wackid! I just don't get it!

Anyone know the deal? This is gonna drive me nuts until I get to the bottom of it. LOL! Smile.

Chris.
