Hi William,
Can you describe the process you use to put your computer into standby? I
really can't replicate this happening here and I've tried a couple of ways.
The first thing I did is to put the computer to sleep by closing the screen.
The computer went into it's power saving mode and when I opened the screen and
pressed a key the computer came back up and the USB disk was mounted as before.
The second thing I tried was putting the computer to sleep by pressing
command-option-eject. The computer powered down and when I pressed a key the
system comes back up as before with my USB disk mounted.
The third thing I did was go into Preferences and look for any settings that
may effect how the computer either goes to sleep or shuts down. The only thing
I found is the energy saver tab where there are options that control when and
if the computer goes to sleep. I can't find anything in the preferences that
talks about going into an actual standby mode, just sleep modes. I'm truly at a
loss here why this is happening to you. Describe how you put your system to
sleep and maybe we can shed some light on the situation.
