Hi Terry, I don't turn cursor tracking off myself, though I'm aware it might be useful to try and run terminal-based programs that way. The key for me is to interact with the shell text area. I should point out here that I don't generally run Curses programs, less being a notable exception when reading manual pages. I don't use the Unix layer of OS X all that much.
