I seem to remember that while I was struggling to transit from Windows to Mac -
and one of those steps was buying books from Audible.com - I had chosen an
option somewhere to have my audible books automatically downloaded into iTunes.
I am not being much help - sorry - as I can't remember how it happened. But if
your books go into downloads, try the following: find them in your download
folder, open them with command+down arrow, and normally iTunes will put them in
the right place in its source table. I think you may need to go into iTunes
preferences by pressing a shortcut key command + comma and see whether there
are any options you would like to choose for audiobooks. Once you've made
changes in the preferences of any application, close the preferences windows
with command+w.

Good luck. Mac is indeed great although it takes some getting used to.
