Just doing a little catching up here.. after a windows 7 crash(ugh!).. this is one reason I really want to switch, windows is always crashing.. anyway..
Thanks to everybody who answered my scanning question.. For now, because of school, looks like I'll have to keep the win machine around for the k1000 part at least. Once we're done with that, maybe we can just get a stand alone eye pal or something to scan our post every day and do occasional books or whatever and go all mac for everything else. Who knows what else will spring up between now and then? The issue is if you try to run Windows without running it as a virtual machine. The sound usually works if you are running Windows through Fusion as a virtual machine. But, if you choose to boot to Windows instead of booting into Snow Leopard and boot directly into Windows there is a good chance that you will not have any sound in Windows due to some kind of sound driver problem that Apple and Microsoft neither seem to have a good answer to. But, luckily it only happens on the MacBook Pro 13. I have the MacBook Pro 15 and have never had the problem with mine or any of the about 15 machines that I have setup with both Windows 7 and Snow Leopard. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Moore" <moor...@blueyonder.co.uk> To: <macvisionaries@googlegroups.com> Sent: Friday, February 18, 2011 2:09 AM Subject: Re: scanning and the mac That seems quite odd, as I have a iMac and a 13 inch Macbook Pro, and VM Fusion is fine on the Macbook. I also have the iPal Solo (stand alone version of the iPal). I opted for this as I did not realise at the time they were working on Mac software.
