Stephen at Kurzweil told me that you can't buy the camera separately, and you can't use it separately. The Eye-Pal software must be installed, as k1000 needs to access components of the Eye-Pal software, so if you are going to use K1000 with the Eye-Pal camera, you will need to purchase both packages.
