The preview pain is not up on my friend's machine; it was turned off but I think since he is now reading this list, he's got all the instructions he needs to turn it on. I really like preview pane. He was told by another friend that it is easier to turn it off because once focus hits an unread message, the indicator changes to read not unread; that has not been the case for me. I can arrow all over my message list and those messages I have not opened remain in unread status.
