Hi!

Also, holding these keys down is fine, as long as it is done just when you hear
the startup chime. Keep in mind, there is a startup delay, which means that you
can do it within this timeframe. I often just hold down any keys to affect the
startup when I hear the chime. Not a second after, but as soon as I hear it.
The time between hearing the drive and the startup chime itself is significant
enough to actually reach the keys in time.

You will need to hold them for a while, however. First, you will hear the
regular chime. Keep holding them for a while longer, until you hear your drive
again. Don't let go until you hear a second chime, possibly at a much louder
volume depending on your volume settings.

You may also have to reset some settings in preferences, as some of these are
stored in the PRAM.

Regards,
Nic
