Colin, I tried the list of FB shortcuts you posted and the only one which works consistently is control+2 which takes me from the home page of my newsfeed to my profile page. Then control+1 I believe to go back. I noticed the other shortcuts like going to one's in box, friends or notifications does not work if you're on a random spot on the FB page but if you happen to be on the link labeled messages then press the shortcut while on said link you will get the in box of messages. Same for the friends link and the notifications. If I'm on the links and press the shortcut it gives me the corresponding message.
I thought Sarah suggestion of VO+command+f5 might work. Sorry to hear you and Laura were not successful with that. Although Laura apparently was able to play the video. I am glad you figured it out Laura. If I ever encounter another way to play videos I'll make sure to post it in the hope it helps.
