I am not sure if anyone answered this but I found it depends on the source of 
the video for me.  If it is a youtube video they are sharing, I simply press 
either VO+space or enter on the link which contains the title and the video 
begins to play almost immediately if not shortly after.  I have noticed that 
some times, friends post an HD video such as a friend who was in a short film 
and when I pressed VO+space on the link, I was redirected to a different page 
on FB.  The director of the film originally posted the video and when I clicked 
on the link the new page contained a heading stating videos posted by that 
individual.  I simply worked down to the one of my friend and when I did, there 
were two options.  One link was titled "play video in regular quality" and the 
other link was "play video in HD"  When I activated the first link, I waited 
about ten seconds and the movie began to play.  For the most part when a 
friend, posts an HD video, these are the steps I take.  Maybe someone has a 
simpler way to play videos.
