Scott and others, There is no way I could have figured out all this without all of you on this list. But, using all the tips especially this note from Scott I was able to read a book Share book on my iPhone using ibooks! It works very well.
For the next person trying this I am placeing a summery of the steps below Down load a book share book Unzip it using a free program called The Unarchiver, I found it with Google. remember your book Share password when opening, It will ask for it Don't use the built in Mac unarchiving utility, it will not work. Go into the folder of files. In my case 9 files. find the file ending in .xml and open it in Safari copy the contents to the clip board Open text editor and paste in the text save the file as a rtf file Open the RTf file in Stansa, another free app learned about on this list go to the file menu and export as epub Open itunes and go to file and then to add to Library select the converted epub book go to your books table and find the book, in my case called Untitled press the button and open the table with the book name. Then press command i to get info. Go to the Info tab and add the book name and Author. Press ok Now the book has the correct name and author. Sink your i Phone Next time you go to iBooks it is waiting for you! Not that hard once you have all the steps. Again no way I could have done this without all the tips on these different programs and ways to use them! What a great community!
